A Word from the Session and the Personnel Committee re: Pastoral Transition

The Session fully supports Pastor Randy’s decision to take a new interim position in Baltimore.  Although saying goodbye is sad, we agree that Pastor Randy has accomplished what we called him to do as our interim pastor.  Randy has led us from a time of conflict to being excited once again for what God has in store for us as a community of faith.  He listened to us and helped us listen to each other.  He led us straightforwardly to address issues of our past and to envision where God calls us into the future.  Through his leadership we are ready for our next settled pastor.  On top of all this, Pastor Randy led us through the pandemic in a loving way with our ministry and mission intact. So we are sad to say goodbye but glad for what Randy has done.

Randy’s last Sunday with us will be July 11.  The Session is actively working with Presbytery to find a temporary pastor to bridge the gap to when our Pastor Nominating Committee’s task is complete.  We expect that person to be in place sometime this fall.  From mid-July until then, we are working with Presbytery to arrange guest preachers to share the load with Pastor Eric.  Although this is a time of change, it is an exciting time in the life of our church.

We are thankful for Randy's leadership over the last three years.  We wish him all the best in his new position and know that he will be a blessing there.
