Adopt-a-Family 2014

Continuing a Red Clay Tradition: Our holiday gift Certificate program, now embracing Epiphany House and Urban Promise!

The Adopt-a-Family program aids families in crisis – those struggling with illness, homelessness, domestic violence, poverty, and/or unemployment.

Adopt-a-Family has requested that we make financial contributions only this year. Your contribution will enable parents, grandparents, and guardians to purchase gifts for their children. We experience the great joy of shopping for our loved ones at Christmas and choosing that special gift!  Your contribution will enable families who do not usually have that experience the pleasure we may take for granted.

Your contributions are needed by Sunday, December 7 to allow time to purchase gift certificates. Our goal is $120/family member for shoes, toys, clothing, and groceries. Please mark your payment to: RCCPC - Adopt-a-Family.

Epiphany House

The Epiphany House program, run by Friendship House, aids women who have just completed drug or alcohol recovery or completed a prison term and have no place to go.  This year we will collect the for the women’s gift bags:  Scarves, hats, gloves, socks, and personal toiletries.  Gifts are needed by Sunday, December 7.

Camp Hope

The Camp Hope program, run by Urban Promise, is an after school program for grades 1-5 in the Southbridge community. Our members spend one night a month with these children playing chess and/or checkers. This year we will collect the following for the children’s gift bags: Hats, gloves, gummy fruit candy, chess/checker sets, and small school supplies (e.g., pencils, notebook paper, glue sticks, and crayons). Gifts are needed by Sunday, December 7.

Additional Opportunities to Support These Missions
  • Volunteer your time on the Adopt-a-Family/Epiphany House/Camp Hope Workday – Tuesday, December 9, 9:00 am –12:00 Noon (followed by lunch at a local restaurant).  Volunteers will be purchasing gift certificates for Adopt-a-Family and assembling packages for Epiphany House and Camp Hope.
  • Pray for the communities we serve, the Adopt-a-Family Committee, and the RCCPC community so that we may all know the joy of sharing the love of Christ this season.
