to Presbytery, and the pastoral discretionary account.

For 2008 the amounts collected and expended for special purposes
have been estimated and included above: special offerings,
mission trips, donations to support youth programs.

Although they are a significant part of Red Clay's ministry and outreach
[see We Give in Many Ways] many things are not included in the budget:
construction costs, food and material donations, Scouting, the Cemetery Corporation,
the Lawton Trust, or the value of volunteer hours and local travel expenses.

Wayne Brubaker
  • Manages church office equipment and establishes administrative policy and procedures to ensure efficient and effective use of equipment and supplies.
  • Works to support the staff and church volunteers ensuring the best use of time through the identification and introduction of productivity tools and equipment, and ensuring proper volunteer/staff training.
  • Manages church communications channels including bulletin board signage, Email, newsletters, internal phones, computer networks, and Websites.
  • Provides the leadership needed to train church officers (Elders / Deacons), and coordinates the core strategy required to develop and maintain the church's long range plan.
Adult Education

Congregational Outreach

Donna Manley - 2007
Coordinates visitor contact and new member assimilation. Provides meals when needed for members returning from the hospital or during other times of personal challenges.
Evangelism &  Member Care

Kove Hudson
  • Promotes an on-going program of reaching the citizens of the community for Jesus Christ and for church membership. See our list of small worship and study groups.
  • Counsels with, educates and recommends persons for membership (through such means as an Inquirers Class).
  • Provides an assimilation program for new members and ensures their involvement in the life of the congregation.
  • Provide oversight and care of Stephen Ministry program
  • Suggests to Session names for the Inactive Roll.
Finance and Stewardship

  • Oversees the financial programs of the church:
  • prepares a budget for the church year
  • is responsible for emphasizing within the congregation the practice of Christian stewardship (time, talents and treasure) among the members of the church, and making the membership aware of Christian standards and principles of stewardship
  • encourages the stewardship education of children and youth
  • oversees the stewardship campaign and special fund drives for the church
  • sees that the financial records of the church are audited annually.

Flower Dedication 
and Delivery

Douglas Leach - 2007
Manages the donation and arrangement of flowers for church services as well as the distribution to shut-ins after the services.
Gifts and Endowments

  • Monitors the receipt and disbursements of gift and memorial funds.
  • Develops and manages the assets of the Endowment Fund.
  • Educates and promotes the use of wills and benevolence giving among members.

Phil Worrell
  • Is responsible for the maintenance, care, repair and redecoration of all church property. Also oversees the use of the buildings by outside groups. [The Cemetery Corporation is responsible for the cemetery.]
  • Oversees all structural alterations and redecoration.
  • Recommends to Session special use of building by outside groups.
  • Maintains adequate insurance for all church property.
  • Maintains and oversees the Memory Garden and raise funds needed to maintain and/or improve it.

Distributes income from the Joseph Lawton Trust Fund.
Memory Garden

Pat Faatz - 2007
Manages the operation of the Memory Garden (adjacent to the church building). NOTE: Section "F" of the cemetery, which also receives cremains, is managed by the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery Corporation.
Mission and Outreach

Max Matteson
  • Promotes within the congregation an understanding of the mission work of the Presbyterian Church, and develop enthusiasm and support for a wider mission of the church
  • Interprets the mission causes of our congregation to members and provide programs and events regarding our mission endeavors
  • Maintains active contact with missionaries and fraternal workers whose projects will enable our congregation to have a view of the world-wide church; study various social, political and economic concerns of our particular community, nation or world, relating these to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and recommend what kinds of actions should be undertaken
  • Has responsibility for special programs as clothing bank, food bank, disaster funds, drug programs, inner city programs, community services, etc.

Nominating

Provides nominations for offices of elder and deacon, Cemetery corporation, pastor nominating committees, and other special committees within the church.
Personnel

Donna L. Reilly
  • Coordinates personnel policies and practices for the staff.
  • Recommends salary policy and review salary actions.
  • Establishes clear work responsibilities for each position, monitor the performance of those responsibilities, and evaluate how the combined set of responsibilities for all employees covers the needs of the local church.
  • Encourages professional effectiveness and growth.
  • Implements a plan for equal employment opportunity.
  • Is available to confer on a confidential basis and in a supportive manner with all staff members about professional or personal concerns.
Arranges for and coordinates volunteers to assist with church office operations such as reception, secretarial, and database operations.
Reception Support

Barbara Fox - 2007
Coordinates the setup, serving, and clean-up for weddings and receptions for funerals / memorials while providing comfort and support to families and friends during these difficult and joyous times.
Special Events

Anita Hunter - 2007
Coordinates the many special church celebrations, coffee and community time between services, and provides kitchen support.
Worship and Music

Karen Tronto
  • Is responsible for those activities and articles which contribute to an orderly, pleasing and meaningful worship service, and for the special activities of baptism, communion, marriages and funerals.
  • Provides ushers, greeters and lay readers for worship services.
  • Consults with the Director of Music to achieve a broad and meaningful program of music for worship.
  • Maintains the church organ and establishes policy for its use by individuals other than the church organist.
  • Makes recommendations concerning any needs related to the service of worship.
