Summer-to-Go Bags for Meeting Ground

It’s summer!! School’s out, the sun is hot, and the bugs are biting! Many are thinking about a fun camping trip, spending time in the great outdoors. For others, the outdoors is their home and this can be a difficult and uncomfortable time of year.

To provide a bit of relief for people in the Elkton/Newark area who are experiencing homelessness this summer, Red Clay is collecting Summer-to-Go bags. You can help! We need gallon-sized Ziploc storage bags filled with one each of the following items:

  • Insect repellant towelettes (preferably deet-free)
  • Sunscreen lotion (SPF 30 or 50)
  • Lip balm
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Mask
  • Wet wipes
  • A brief note of encouragement that is not specific to any religion
Example: You are stronger than you think!

Just one bag can make a big difference! Collection bins will be available following each worship service on July 18th and July 25th until Noon. Look for them in the Narthex and just outside Founder’s Hall. All Summer-to-Go bags will be delivered to Meeting Ground’s Mary Randall Day Center in Elkton for distribution the week of July 25th.

Thank you for doing awesome things!!
