CDCA Nicaragua Presentation
- May 7, 2023
- Time: 11:30am – 12:30pm
- Coordinator: Rachele Gilmore
The REACH committee is pleased to have Sarah Junkin Woodard of the Center for Development in Central America visit Red Clay on Sunday, May 7th for the first time in five years. Sarah will be sharing her presentation about Nicaragua and the CDCA's work complete with photos at 11:30 that day in Fellowship Hall below the sanctuary. Since food will be provided, please fill out this form so that we can plan on numbers. Feel free also to direct any questions to Tom Whipple at whipplet67@gmail.com. The Red Clay congregation donates thousands of dollars every year to numerous charities through the REACH budget, and this is a unique opportunity to see and hear firsthand how some of that money is being used in Nicaragua where the CDCA leads efforts for sustainable development in collaboration with the poor of that area. Sarah's informative and uplifting words will present the challenges the CDCA has faced as well as the successes it has had over the last few years. You will also leave with a better understanding of how Nicaragua, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, is surviving and thriving in today's world. Come hear also about how Red Clay could play an even bigger role in the success of the CDCA by having a delegation travel to Nicaragua in 2024. The CDCA welcomes delegations that can help with construction, medical, and solidarity work.
