Late in 2005 construction began on a major addition to our church complex.
This series of photos taken during construction show what the site looked like
during the various stages of cosntruction (including re-doing the parking lots).

2005 - We Began to Build

February: We completed the first project, adding an elevator in the narthex.
April: Submitted the building permit application to New Castle County.

A "before" photo of the area where the new building will be built.
July: Signed the construction contract and began clearing the surface on the site.
October: Started excavation to allow pouring the foundation.

The excavated soil was trucked to the back of the upper parking lot and used
to build "Mt. McFall", which was later used as fill around the foundation.
November 21: First Pour of Concrete

November 29: Starting on the Ground Floor

Reinforcing bars for the back (north) wall for floors 1 and 2 and for
the footing (at right) that will keep it from sinking into the earth.
December 14: Dig We Must!

Neither rain nor snow nor the hazard of digging directly under the backhoe
shall slow down the progress of building the new facility -- we hope.

December 30: This forest of reinforcing bars will soon be buried in concrete.

Here you can see the concrete footing at the base of the north (back) wall.

Giant steps are footers for the eastern wall.
