About John
John grew up in San Jose, CA and has been a member of Foothill Presbyterian Church for most of his life. After high school, John went to Sterling College (Sterling, KS) on an athletic and music scholarship and received a BA in communications in 2005.  He then moved from the confines of rural Kansas to Brooklyn, NY to work as a publicist for a hip-hop promotions company for nine months.

He left Brooklyn to move back to San Jose to become an elementary school Physical Education teacher for two years, youth group director, camp coordinator, and part time gymnastics coach.

Just prior to joining us at Red Clay, John graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master’s of Divinity degree. His time at Princeton consisted of being the program director for an after school program at a local elementary school and camp chaplain at Holmes Presbyterian Camp in Holmes, NY.  Also during this time he spent two years working at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church as the intern for the young adult group as well as being the children’s worship director.
