Emmanuel Dining Room - In response to the need for food for the hungry, the Ministry of Caring established the Emmanuel Dining Room in November 1979. Since then it has been in continuous operation as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, whose sole purpose is to minister to the poor. They respond to the human need for food served with dignity as well as supportive services. Nutritious noonday and breakfast meals are provided with no questions and no restrictions. They depend on volunteers to help with waiting tables, washing dishes and cleaning after dining.

FAITH Center -is dedicated to meeting the needs of our poor and teaching them to become self-sufficient. They are a religious community's response to God's call to serve fellow human beings in crisis who need compassion, love, assistance, and enablement. Consultations, referrals to available community resources and as appropriate, financial assistance with basic human needs teamed with self-help opportunities and encouragement to alleviate the effects of poverty. Acknowledging variations in theology, worship and perspective, all communities of faith are invited into membership in the FAITH center. This is an opportunity for congregations to pool their resources, financial as well as people power to meet unmet needs. Volunteers work at least one day per month from 10:00 to 2:30. Most meet with clients to gather information concerning their emergency needs.

In 1998 the seeds of this ministry were planted in Wilmington with the launch of a summer camp on the city's East Side for children in grades 1 though 8. It's success led to an after school program during the school year. A second camp was added in the summer of 1999. The mission of Urban Promise Wilmington is to teach children and young adults the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. Volunteers are needed for Work Groups, Tutors, special skills and prayer. Financial support is needed for supplies and equipment.
