Randy has served in installed or temporary pastoral positions in Louisiana, Mississippi, Delaware, and Maryland, and as parish associate in Presbyterian Churches in New York City and Wilmington, Delaware. When not in parish ministry he has served in non-profits in New York, Delaware and Maryland, working in organizations that provide services to people who are homeless, people who are dealing with issues of aging, people who have a severe mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders, and those who are dying and their caregivers. In addition to being a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) he is also a licensed clinical social worker in Delaware. He holds degrees from the University of Georgia, Columbia Theological Seminary and Fordham University.
Randy has served on the Boards of several non-profit organizations including Connections Community Support Programs, AIDS Delaware, Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware, and the West Center City Seekers. He has also served on Christiana Care Health System’s Societal Benefit Committee. During his years as a member of New Castle Presbytery he served as Chair of the Speer Trust Commission, Vice Chair of the Committee on Ministry, and as a member of Council. He was a Commissioner from New Castle Presbytery to the PCUSA General Assembly in 2008. While in Baltimore Presbytery he served on the Committee for Preparation for Ministry.
Randy and his husband, Tim Rodden, enjoy their two German Shepherds, involvement in faith communities, gardening, occasional sightings of the ocean, some Bach and Buxtehude, treasured friends, and good reading material all which help make his life whole.
